Knight Group are a comprehensive groundworks and civil engineering company based in the South East and due to continued growth, are currently recruiting for an experience Project Manager to join the team.

Responsible for running large housing groundworks sites in excess of 150 units. You will be overseeing all aspects of the groundworks process, delivering the project efficiently and to the highest standards, meeting project targets, budgets, and business objectives. Supervising and coordinating workers on-site and working closely with other construction professionals. Adhering to and ensuring the site is conforming to the highest health and safety standards, with excellent knowledge of assessing and minimising risk.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing site staff and assisting with training and development
• Preparing and presenting site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks
• Assessing and managing safety hazards
• Working closely with the client
• Ensuring appropriate site rules and welfare facilities are in place
• Carrying out regular site inspections, ensuring all health and safety and quality processes are followed
• Working to program, ensuring the program is accurate and within the cost
• Completing site admin tasks such as monthly project review reporting, staff timesheets and any other paperwork required
• Working closely with quantity surveyors, buyers, and estimators, ensuring the project is run within the required time frame, cost, and quality
• Helping coordinate deliveries of materials, plant, and equipment
• Attending site-management meetings
• Carrying out regular inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, processes, and procedures
• Raising safety concerns at the appropriate level
• Resolving problems and implementing improvements
• Organising and overseeing external inspections, such as with a health and safety inspector
• Working closely with the HR team to ensure the correct procedures are followed for all day-to-day personnel issues, including employment, grievances and disciplinary issues.

• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of construction drawings and contractual documents
• Exceptional understanding of health and safety procedures
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Understanding of legal responsibilities on construction sites
• Excellent understanding of welfare and environmental issues
• Previous experience in Project Management (Groundworks) – Minimum 5 Years
• SMSTS
• First Aid Qualified
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy
• Experience using Microsoft Project Programming (preferred but not essential)
