On May 12th, 2018 Vanessa Cooper, Aaron Ledger, Dan Partridge and Graham Eyre will be jumping out of a plane to raise money for Mid and North-East Essex Mind.

This year Knight Group have nominated Mid and North-East Essex Mind as their charity of the year. Mid and North-East Essex Mind are a local, independent charity in partnership with the national charity Mind.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. Mind provides advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem, whilst campaigning to improve services, raising awareness and promoting understanding.

Mid and North-East Essex Mind work from Chelmsford to Clacton, from Braintree to Colchester – covering all of Mid and North-East Essex. Local Mind charities, like Mid and North-East Essex, have to raise their own funds to run their services. Local services include talking therapies, peer support, advocacy, crisis care, employment and housing support.

Knight Group are proud to be supporting Mid and North-East Essex Mind and over the year staff will be taking part in different fundraising events. So far, Graham Eyre has completed R.E.D January (Run Every Day in January), totaling an incredible 137 miles over 31 days. In 6 weeks time, the very brave Daniel Partridge, Aaron Ledger, Vanessa Cooper and Graham Eyre are doing a 10,000ft skydive, on May 12th, during Mental Health Awareness Week! Vanessa, who is taking part in the charity skydive says, “I am so thrilled to be able to do something that I have always wanted to do on behalf of such a fantastic charity! Mental health is an issue very close to my heart and raising money for Mind Mid and North-East Essex is really important to me! I appreciate every single donation no matter how small.”

Other fundraising events this year include Alex Rudgley’s ‘Row Everyday’ and the London to Brighton, 54-mile cycle ride, on September 16th, with Guy Barker, Richard Stannard, Alex Rudgley and Rhys Pegram taking on the challenge. This is just to name a few of the fundraising events that Knight Group will be getting involved with this year.
