Charity Skydive for Mid and North-East Essex

On Saturday 12th May, four brave Knight Group employees joined up with Mid and North-East Essex Mind for a charity skydive. A big well done to Vanessa Cooper, Graham Eyre, Daniel Partridge and Jason Leeds! The courageous four have contributed to Knight Group raising nearly £4000 over the past few months for our charity of the year, Mid and North-East Essex Mind. We are overwhelmed by the many generous donations. Thank you to our clients, suppliers, family, friends and all the staff at Knight Group, who have sponsored and supported us this year.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and is running from the 14-20th May on the theme of stress. Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health and mental health problems and inspire action to promote the message of good mental health for all. Mental Health Awareness Week has been run by the Mental Health Foundation since 2001. Click here for more information on Mental Health Awareness Week.

Vanessa Cooper, one of the members of staff who jumped on Saturday explained, ‘It’s difficult to put into words how absolutely amazing it is to participate in a Sky Dive… The adrenaline rush and the sheer liberation you feel when you leave the aircraft is so incredible! You put your fate in the hands of someone else and the abandonment is actually really exciting! The initial rush of just rapidly falling is fantastic and then, once the parachute is open, you gently float down to the ground whilst being able to see for miles around you… It’s such a peaceful feeling and the air feels so clean! I can truly say it is the best thing I have ever done – I was on a high all weekend and still am. To think we have raised so much money for our chosen charity this year whilst doing something so wonderfully exhilarating AND something that has been on my bucket list for years just makes it all the more fabulous! I would do it again in a heartbeat!! In fact, I am now trying to think of some other extreme sports activities to try!’

Keep up-to-date with our charity events for Mid and North-East Essex Mind on our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. As well as our regular dress-down-days and cake sales at the Knight Group office, we have more events lined up this year, such as the London to Brighton cycle ride on September 16th!
