Holytree Walk

 

Client: Bellway Homes Essex

Project: Hollytree Walk, Bromley Road, Colchester

Nature of Project: Sheet Piled Wall, Earthworks, Green Earth Wall Works, Groundworks, Roads and Sewers and External Works (143 Units)

Project Value: £11.5million

The Hollytree Wall project transformed a severely sloping natural site into a well-planned residential development comprising 147 units.

To address the challenging topography, civil engineering works included the installation of a 450 linear metre sheet piled wall along the northern boundary. This enabled a bulk excavation to take place, allowing the southern boundary levels to be raised through the construction of a green reinforced earth wall.

Upon completion of the earthworks, Knight Group undertook the full infrastructure scope, which included:

  • Installation of roads and sewers
  • Construction of both piled and traditional foundations
  • Installation of complex retaining walls
